This approach could help you save money on individual purchases, and enable you to sell more products at each consignment event.

The Best Ways To Get Consignment Event Supplies For Little to No Money

  • Check your home first!
  • Always ask a relative, friend, or neighbor.
  • Post a listing on Moms Groups on Facebook asking if you can pick up free stuff.
  • Purchase items from dollar stores.
  • Look for coupon deals or amazon lightning deals/target/walmart deals.

  • Tagging Gun with plastic holders
  • White Cardstock Paper #60-67
  • Printer (black and white) – another way to print is to have a printing store likes Staples or Office Max print and cut for you. You may want to consider this option if you are printing hundreds of labels to save time and ink costs.
  • Packaging tape
  • Painters tape
  • Plastic sandwich/quart/gallon sized bags
  • Zip ties – various size
  • Hanger Dividers – if you will be selling clothes with many different sizes, cheap on Amazon or DIY.
  • Children’s Clothing Hangers (find them for free with tips below)
  • Laundry Detergent – Tide Free and Clear (Liquid or Pods)
  • Oxyclean Free From Perfumes Stain Remover
  • Shout Stain Remover
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Magic Eraser or Melamine Sponge (bulk listing on Amazon here)
  • Dishwashing soap – Dawn or Palmolive
  • Lint remover and razor to remove lint balls from clothes
  • Plastic storage bins/cardboard boxes – to hold items to bring to the sale.
  • Clothing Rack – if you do not have many clothes for sale, you could probably get away with using some closet space or you can makeshift a clothing rack between a door frame with a strong spring curtain rod. Investing in a sturdy, stainless steel clothing rack with wheels like this one would be beneficial to organizing and storing clothes for the event. There are less expensive options, but most of them are not sturdy enough and tend to bend from the pressure of the weight and collapse. This has happened to me before and I ended up wasting a lot of time and money!

Do not spend money on hangers if you can avoid it for consignment events.

It is crucial to bear in mind that disposing of unused clothes can pave the way for success. Nevertheless, it is equally significant to stay cognizant of your financial plan and refrain from any superfluous expenses regularly which makes it easier to keep your space organized. Nonetheless, it is equally essential to be mindful of your financial limits and steer clear of any extravagance that could lead to unnecessary spending.

Look around your house, declutter in closets, in the basement, and ask around, even post on Facebook that you are looking for hangers. You would be surprised how many hangers you can get for free if you just ask around.

Use the wire hangers from the dry cleaners, or the white plastic hangers that came with that cute little onesie, and use those first. You can even just use all of your plastic hangers for consignment events and replace them strong wooden hangers to update your closets.

When you are in the process of shopping for new clothes, it is possible that you may have the opportunity to obtain some complimentary hangers to assist in organizing and storing your new items.Just stop by department stores or clothing shops and see if they have any available.Give them a call and ask for hangers. Sometimes they give them to you for free or a box filled with hangers for a small fee. The stores that are going out of business are always are trying to get rid of hangers.

Buying Consignment Event Supplies in Bulk

Buying supplies in bulk always is less expensive, if you are planning on using or reselling the item. For instance, if you buy a 10 pack of children’s hangers for $10.00, it will cost you roughly $0.10 each (depending on tax). A good rule of thumb is to add $0.10 on to the consignment price tag for each item you sell if you will be including the hanger that you purchased.

In case you find yourself with an abundance of hangers following a successful consignment event, you may want to consider selling them online. This could serve the dual purpose of freeing up space while potentially earning you some extra cash. Sell them quick with Facebook marketplace or even Poshmark.

Items like packaging tape, painters tape, safety pins, storage bins, zip ties, magic erasers, and plastic ziplock bags are going to be much cheaper buying in bulk. It’s important to keep in mind that certain items may not be easy to resell, so it’s wise to exercise caution when buying them in bulk. Only do so if you’re confident that you’ll participate in multiple consignment events throughout the year.
