consignment event supplies

What are consignment sales? Consignment sales or events are filled with gently used or new items for sale. Consignment events are a place where the community comes together to sell and buy from each other. These events help the community by purchasing from local families. In turn, local families save money buying new or gently used items secondhand.

There are so many aspects of children’s and maternity consignment events that have made me a true fan and believer. The items that I did not think would sell have provided me some extra money. Also, it is easier than just selling things online.

0% Customer Service Work for You

One of my favorite things about consignment events is that I do not have to provide customer service. Items that are not sold will be donated if not picked up by the reseller after the sale. Otherwise picked up at the end of the sale.

Consignment events are the best way to sell used items. You do not have to worry about ratings, bad reviews, or someone trying to scam you online. Plus, you can take an unlimited amount of items to the consignment event. It frees up space in your house, even if that means renting a truck to get your stuff there.

So What Are the Benefits of Consignment Sales?

1. Consignment Events Are A Parents Dream

Consignment sales are a 3-4 day long shopping event. They are usually held at an auditorium or a sports complex. Children’s consignment events have anything and everything you will need if you have kids or are going to have kids.  Consignment events are the best place to shop for gently used items for your children. Since kids grow so fast, buying new clothes every season can be expensive. However, purchasing from a consignment event makes buying new clothes so much more affordable.

There are many families that cannot afford to buy brand new clothes for their children at retail prices. Being a reseller means you are helping another family find quality clothes and toys for their growing little ones.

2. Consignment Sales Are A Fast Way to Declutter and Sell

Get rid of your “children’s clutter” fast which is in good condition by reselling at a consignment event. Make it a point to declutter with your kids – here are some tips. For example, furniture they have outgrown, crib and twin-sized sheets, bottles, hair bows, large outdoor toys, etc. Clothing with the tag still attached will sell quickly at a consignment sale. Also, you will have so much more free space in your closet and your house.  Win-win.

However, it does take time to declutter, especially with a couple of kids running around. The more time and effort you put in to something, the better the outcome.  This is not a get-rich-quick way of making money.

3. What are Consignment Sales? A Community Effort

Many consignment sales are possible because of the sellers who sign up to participate in the event who live in the area. When you sign up to sell at a consignment event, you have the option to work a shift during the sale. A lot of consigners work at the sale to get back a higher percentage from the items they sell.

For instance, the consigner who does not work at the sale will make 60% of their sales. The consigner who decides to work will make 65-75%+ of their sales, depending on how many shifts they have worked. The consignment event company takes a percentage of sales for marketing, renting space, renting racks, salaries for the managers, etc., so you do not make 100% of the item you sold.

It is pretty amazing to see so many people working together to put on this huge sale, see it be successful with thousands of buyers attending, and then see all of your hard work shown in $$$ at the end is so very rewarding.

While consignment events are very successful, they also are able to donate many things to local charities. I have always donated anything that does not sell. I love creating extra space in my home. It reduces my anxiety. Plus, I know someone will be very thankful for the donations.

The sellers are happy, the buyers are happy, and you make the less fortunate happy. Everyone works together for the benefit of others.

4. What are Consignment Sales? They are Good for the Environment.

Reuse, recycle, and repurpose.

Buying something that has been gently used at a very discounted price, then to buy brand new.

We have to try to save the planet in any little way we can. If we start reusing more toys, we will not have to make so much. Also, have you ever gone into a toy store or even looked around your house thinking, “Wow, this is a lot of plastic.”

So many toys are made out of plastic. However, toys made out of plastic make it easier to keep in good condition, thus reselling them.
