The work is not hard, but doing the task over and over can be. Have one more cup of coffee, get yourself up, and start taking photos of the items that are ready to be sold. It takes me less than 30 seconds to take 12 photos of a listing. It is worth it.
5 Important Things to Remember to Make Money on Poshmark
1. Sell the stuff in your house already – Do not go out shopping if you do not have to! There are so many things you can list on Poshmark that are not clothes! Kitchen accessories, decorative items, picture frames, fake plants, games, toys, etc.
2. Find low-cost inventory via 50% off sales at thrift stores, especially church thrift stores, goodwill, salvation army, garage sales, your Nana’s closet, free or cheap clothing from Facebook marketplace to make money on Poshmark.
3. Do not buy shipping bags or boxes! The USPS will give you free shipping envelopes, bags, and boxes for Priority Mail – the same mail service Poshmark creates shipping labels for! Forget about the cute avocado shipping bags. As cute as they are, you will end up spending more money for something that will be instantly thrown away once it’s opened, and that is not so cute.
4. List at least 20 items a day if you are serious about making money on Poshmark. The more items you list, the more you will sell. Plus, when you share more items from your closet, there is a better chance of your items being seen. Listing 20 items or more each day consistently will be the fastest way to make the most money and make a full-time income from selling on Poshmark.
5. Make sure your titles and descriptions match and make sense. For instance, make sure all of the words that are in your title are also included somewhere in your description. Additionally, including measurements especially for women’s clothes, really helps to sell your items.

7. Communication is key to make money on Poshmark! Respond to buyers’ questions in a friendly, time-sensitive manner, if you feel they may be truly interested in the item. If you sense they are being rude, just ignore them.

Keep track of the supplies you buy or spend money on that are needed for packaging such as the amount of print cartridges for your printer, the paper you needed to buy, the tissue paper to pack with or clear plastic bags for clothing. All of the expenses that you have during the year should be documented on a spreadsheet and saved for your tax professional to evaluate if you sell a certain amount from Poshmark each year. Amazon is a great place to source for deals on printer cartridges, paper, and plastic sleeves for clothing.

Yes! You can definitely make money on Poshmark! All you need is determination, stamina and the stuff laying around your house to sell! The secret to making money on Poshmark is to show up every day! List items every day, make offers and bundles, follow new users, etc. You can do this!
Poshmark Tips for Beginners to Make Money on Poshmark
Poshmark may seem like a whole new world to a beginner. It is almost more of a social app than a selling app! Just remember to be kind, friendly, and business-minded. If you are just starting off, here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Focus on listing items. To make Poshmark a full-time job, you need to have a lot of listings – hundreds to make daily sales.
- Share your closet to your followers at least 4x a day.
- Share your closet to parties and share others’ listings at parties too.
- Follow users that like the same brands you are selling. Follow new users, follow Poshmark ambassadors, and keep following until you get tired. I found when I was first selling the more people I followed, the more who also followed me and now I have over 50K followers on Poshmark. The more followers you have, the better chance you have to get things sold.
- Work towards becoming a Poshmark Ambassador. Under your account, Poshmark will show you what else you have to do to become a Poshmark Ambassador. Do not worry, it is nothing too complicated, it is pretty much just following users, making bundles, and sharing your closet several times.
- Share your closet on your social media accounts like Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
